Hungary businesses and manufacturing and services facilities are increasing their exports to Canada and North America. Hungary's trade with Canada has benefited greatly from the Canada-European Union free trade agreement (CETA) with two way merchandise trade per year totalling over $900 million per year.
Canada mainly exports machinery, aircraft, and vehicles to Hungary, while Hungary exports mostly electrical equipment, machinery, and medical instruments to Canada. There is potential for the economic relationship to grow as both countries are members of the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and CETA Free Trade Agreement.
